Laurie Maudlin Laurie Maudlin continues her focus on infrastructure policy and finance as a Principal in Appian. There, she works on both state and federal governmental relations with a specialization in transportation issues.
Ms. Maudlin most recently spent three years working for Indianapolis-based Ice Miller LLP, where she provided policy and financial recommendations to a number of local and regional road and transit interests. In addition, she served as part of the transportation and infrastructure group providing state and federal lobbying services for road interests.
Prior to joining the private sector, Ms. Maudlin spent ten years working for the State of Indiana, concentrating on finance and policy. She began her career identifying and lobbying for additional sources of federal funding for the Indiana Department of Environmental Management and the then-named Department of Commerce. Most recently, she served as the Assistant Deputy Commissioner for Federal and State Affairs for the Department of Transportation.
In that role, Ms. Maudlin was a primary policy advisor to a coalition of states focused on increasing their share of federal highway funding. As a result of that work, Indiana saw a boost of $300 M in annual federal funding for its roadwork.
Ms. Maudlin received her Masters of Public Administration, with an emphasis on governmental relations, from the University of Kentucky. She earned her bachelor of arts in political science from Hanover College in Hanover, Indiana.
